The Trained Rigging Gear Inspector Level I course is designed to build and enhance the skills of the student to become a qualified, in-house rigging gear inspector. The course includes recorded inspection examples and inspection-related activities. Participants learn the removal criteria for wire rope, wire rope slings, synthetic web and round slings, chain slings, rigging hardware and below-the-hook lifting devices according to applicable US standards and regulations.

Course Overview
An ITI Qualified Rigging Gear Inspector is deemed competent to conduct inspections and removal from service of rigging and lifting equipment including wire rope, slings (wire rope, chain and synthetic), rigging hardware and below-the-hook lifting devices, according to applicable USA regulations and ASME standards. The qualification process consists of:
- Training
- Performance Testing
- Field Evaluation
This course is an online learning experience that satisfies ITI’s requirements for training and performance testing. The online course consists of:
- Course
- Written Exam
- Simulated Practical Exam
Participants who successfully complete the course and exams are issued a three-year certificate as a Trained Rigging Gear Inspector – Level I USA.
Participants who complete a Field Evaluation are issued a three-year certificate as a Qualified Rigging Gear Inspector – Level II USA.
Certificate of Completion
Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be recorded and accessible for download and printing on the individual learner record.
