VR Crane Sim 2.3 Release Notes - May 2024

Launcher 2.3: Create Custom Learning Paths, Consolidated Liebherr LR1300SX Cranes and Overhead Crane Options, New Outdoor Environments, New Lifting Devices, and more.

Launcher 2.3 

• Administrators can Create, Edit or Duplicate Custom Learning Paths using the Launcher. 
  • Local Administrators can group scenarios into chapters and put them in any order they see fit. 
  • Assign Learning paths to specific users and/or user Roles. 
  • Modify scenario completion times. 
    
    

• Added “Role” and “Group” fields to Reports Tab for filtering and generating reports. 
• Added reminder on Login for Users to set security question to allow password resets without an administrator. 
  • Ensuring users can reset their own password if they forget it. 
• Consolidated Liebherr LR1300SX cranes into a single option on the Home tab with configuration drop-down. 
  • Simplifying the Crane drop-down menu 
• Consolidated Overhead cranes into single option with configuration drop-down 
  • Simplifying the Crane drop-down menu 
• Added built in guides for hardware troubleshooting on the Home Tab. 
  • Step-by-step guides to walk users through restoring connection to hardware as necessary. 

Settings 

• Support for Admins to create custom “Groups” 
  • Users can be assigned to Groups on the Users tab and used to filter reports. 

Reports 

• Additional filtering options (Role, Group) to Session and User tabs 
• Support for emailing up to 5 Crane Sim reports at a time (internet connection required). 

Users 

• Added “Role” drop-down to define user’s role within the company. 
• More robust User filtering—Role, Group, Admin, and/or Active 

Other 

• Updated Menu Icons for a more consistent user experience (License, Reports, Learning Paths [NEW!]) 

Crane Sim 1.14 

• New Environment: Outdoor option for Overhead Crane 75/300 Ton! 
  • Operate the 75 Ton and 300 Ton cranes in an outdoor environment with control of time of day, wind, and clouds! 
  • Both cranes are configured to operate with the shorter 40-foot bridge height. 
• New Lifting Device and scenarios for the 300 Ton Overhead Crane outdoors: Hydraulic Slab Tongs for lifting steel slabs and loading them on a rail car. 

• Updated J-hook orientation for ladle pour scenarios in Overhead Crane 
  • Original lifting attachment configuration remains, and a new set of scenarios with J-hooks rotated 180-degrees were added. 
• Support for switching users without closing the Crane Simulator 
  • Users can initiate a user change from the Main Menu without shutting down Crane Sim. 
  • The replacing user will validate their account in the Launcher and hop right into the Main Menu with their progress loaded. 
• Support to “Re-Center” user view in the headset using crane controllers was added. 
  • Additional option for re-centering the headset will now be available from inside the VR headset in the Main Menu, and Scenarios. 
  • The “Enter” key on the keyboard continues to be available for re-centering the user’s view. 
• Increased steel coil opening size for c-hook lifts from 21” to 30” 
  • Based on user feedback, we have increased the coil opening for c-hook scenarios to better align with what our customers are seeing in the field. 
  • These new coils have been added to all C-hook scenarios. 
• Based on user feedback, we have added the ability to use the stopwatch for magnet scenarios.
• Bug Fixes 
  • Base tutorial will show complete on Reports when the scenario was completed as instructed. 
  • Adjusted load position for Conex Box 3 lift so it doesn’t force the operator to go out of chart. 
  • Adjusted tolerance of set-down point for I-Beam 2 scenario.
