The US Navy has selected ITI VR Crane Simulations to support its crane operator training and assessment programs. ITI was awarded the Hardware Simulators – Crane Operator Training Aids and Devices contract. ITI will provide the US Navy with 4 ITI VR Simulator Stations (2 ITI VR Desktop Crane Simulators and 2 ITI VR Motion-Base Crane Simulators) and ITI VR's industry-leading, Unlimited Crane Library Subscription which allows the US Navy to benefit from additional crane models, new scenarios and updates as they are released, at no additional cost.
The US Navy has been a customer of ITI's training solutions since the late 1980s. ITI has provided naval personnel with training in a variety of load handling subjects including Rigging Applications, Mobile, Pedestal and Bridge Crane Operations, Rigging Gear Inspection, and Accident Investigation. Navy personnel from around the world including California, Virginia, Hawaii, and Japan have attended open enrollment courses at ITI Training Centers in Washington, Ohio, and Texas. The long-standing relationship between ITI and the US Navy prompted the two organizations to bring the US Navy the most cutting-edge technology available in crane operator training and assessment.
In its Spring 2018 Software Release, Boom Truck and Carry Deck crane models will be added to the ITI VR Crane Simulations Library for the community to enjoy. These crane models, built in partnership with Terex (Boom Truck 28106) and Broderson Manufacturing Corp. (IC-80), will be available to subscribers in the beginning of March 2018. These new crane models will be joining the Tadano GR-1000XL Rough Terrain and the Link-Belt 218 HSL in the ITI VR Crane Simulation Library. Additional crane models to be released in 2018 include Overhead Crane, Tower Crane & Heavy-Lift Crawler Crane.
Additionally, ITI VR Simulations makes available VR Simulators for Aerial Work Platform, Forklift, and various heavy equipment.
