This Wednesday, July 11, 2012, ITI President Mike Parnell will be conducting the July-edition of the ITI Showcase Webinar Series, but this month's webinar is very different from the others.
This month's webinar is titled, "ITI Master Rigger Course: Interactive Demo". Registrants will receive a student workbook and rigging reference cards via email (PDF) - they will need these resources to participate in the interactive rigging workshops with Mike.
About the Speaker: Mike Parnell has a wealth of knowledge regarding cranes, rigging, and lifting activities throughout a variety of industries. Mike currently sits as the Vice Chair of the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) B30 Main Committee which sets the standards in the US for cranes and rigging, also, he is the Chair of the ASME P30 Main Committee which sets the standards for lift planning. ASME standards are also adopted by many countries around the world including Canada.
On June 7, 2012, the ITI Showcase Webinar Series hosted Guest Speaker Jim Yates, Senior Vice President of Engineering & Technical Services from Barnhart Crane & Rigging to present "Heavy Intermodal Lift & Transport - Engineering Considerations". Over 300 people registered for the event from over 20 countries around the world.
Mr. Yates presentation identified the need and application of engineering, lift planning, and method statements. As well, he summarized several considerations companies must be aware of: environmental, ship & dock, load handling equipment, rigging arrangements, and transporting on barge, ship, and rail.
The ITI Showcase Webinar Series is a monthly presentation hosted by ITI President/CEO, Mike Parnell, available for companies to learn valuable information and discuss matters important to their organization. Upcoming Webinars include:
