"If you mess with the bull, you get the horns."
The true origin of this eternally valuable slice of advice is somewhat cloudy. One potential source being a 1965 issue of the Tennessee Folklore Society Bulletin, as an entry in the "Folk Wisdom in Northeaster Kentucky" section.
A version of the saying was popularized in the 1985 John Hughes classic, The Breakfast Club, with Assistant Principal Richard Vernon issuing the following warning to teenage provocateur John Bender, "Don't mess with the bull, young man. You'll get the horns."
While the origin of the proverb is debatable, it aptly applies to Bull Rigging operations. If your organization utilizes bull rigging techniques and applications, make sure no one on your team "gets the horns" by always using best practices.
