Situational Awareness: Mobile Cranes, Tower Cranes, Overhead Cranes, and You

Wednesday, February 22 | 10 AM PST/1 PM EST | Register Here

Presenter: Chris Machut, Founder & Chief Technology Officer, Netarus

Lacking or inadequate situation awareness has been identified as one of the primary factors in industrial accidents attributed to human error. Thus, situational awareness is especially important in work domains where the information flow can be high and poor decisions will lead to serious consequences. Netarus, founded in 2002, engineers and manufactures situational awareness platforms for some of the most demanding environments and locations. In the February 2017 edition of the Showcase Webinar Series - Situational Awareness: Mobile Cranes, Tower Cranes, Overhead Cranes, and You - Chris Machut, founder and chief technology officer of Netarus, will share the positive, negative, and unintended consequences of using visual aid technologies for mobile, tower, and overhead cranes. Machut, a graduate of Virginia Tech, is an experienced computer engineer and business developer.

Devon Beasley

Senior Instructor, ITI

Devon is one of two original ITI Instructors along with co-founder, Mike Parnell. At the end of 2016, after more than 30 years at ITI, teaching an estimated 15,000+ students, Devon is calling it a career!

A Vietnam Veteran, Devon's career in the crane, rigging, and heavy equipment industry following his service spanned more than 40 years. Before his time as an ITI Instructor, Devon was a heavy equipment operator and instructor with the Department of Energy (DOE), as well as a member of the Revision Committee for the DOE's Hoisting & Rigging Manual.

Devon has impacted thousands of lives in his career and while we are certainly sad to see him go, if anyone deserves some rest and relaxation, it's him!

Thank you Devon!
