Overview

ITI instructors typically have over twenty years of field experience in crane and rigging operations from a variety of industries including: mining, oil and gas, power generation, aerospace, construction, railroad, shipbuilding, and more.  In order to command respect from our very experienced students and customers, ITI trainers should possess the following attributes as well as the above work experience.

Unlike our Full-Time Trainer Positions, this position is a contract-based employment where you are able to work during weeks that you deem available to our Training Solutions Associates.  This role is one in which ITI will not schedule you for training programs or travel unless you have explicitly deemed the days as "available".

This position is best applicable to retired or semi-retired persons who have extensive experience in crane and rigging activities in the many markets ITI serves.

Job Description

ITI instructors conduct training programs related to cranes, rigging, and heavy equipment at ITI Training Centers in Woodland, Washington and Memphis, Tennessee, as well as at ITI customer locations around the world.  The ability to absorb the course materials, become a trained and certified instructor in a variety of courses makes for a more valuable trainer.

Instructors may also be asked to conduct field services offered by ITI including accident investigations, crane and rigging audits, procedure document development, lift director services, and critical lift planning.

All instructors are managed, trained, and evaluated by the ITI Technical Director.

Instructors may also be asked to assist in the development and editing of program materials, customer presentations, and similar projects.

Travel - ITI Instructors are "road warriors", who travel the country and world conducting programs and consulting services.  A happy trainer is the best trainer - the instructor must be willing to be away from home 3-5 days per week.  This part-time, contractor position allows instructors to determine the days in which they will work which still typically results in being away from home.

Compensation

  • Contractor Agreement
  • $400-600 Daily Income; commensurate upon experience
  • Bonus Program

Miscellaneous

  • Typical training program duration is 3-5 days and take place at customer locations around North America and potentially foreign countries.
  • Training programs are also held at ITI Training Centers.
  • Travel and all appropriate business expenses are paid by ITI while traveling and conducting programs.
