The EPRI HRCUG exists to provided a forum for the exchange of information on:
- Lifting and rigging practices
- Crane operation and maintenance
- Material handling equipment and activities
Additionally, the EPRI HRCUG seeks to improve the technical expertise of plant personnel responsible for rigging, lifting, crane usage and maintenance, and materials handling. Attendees of the 2016 group meeting had the objective of providing the latest technical and regulatory issues for the crane, lifting and rigging, and material handling contacts in nuclear plants.
In short, the first ever Crane & Rigging Expo was touted as, "an educational event for decision-makers who manage, crane, rigging and transport activities." It turned out to be much more, with attendees from numerous industries coming to Memphis from across North America.
